Flying squad unit of the kenya police has on Tuesday afternoon discovered a cash safe containing money worth 17 billion Kenya shillings in fake currency at the Barclays Bank of Kenya, Queensway branch along Mama Ngina street.
This discovery has raised concerns on the eligibility of financial institutions in Kenya in regards to claims of colluding with terror groups and money laundering cartels in the wake of continued financial crimes by are havens of crime and terrorists.
Business came to s standstill at the Street housing Barclays Bank, Queensway Branch when the officers impounded the suspicious safe.
The officers from the Flying Squad are said to have have intercepted the large amount of fake notes on transit in Nairobi.
