The two big loses by ODM in Siaya and Nairobi is a clear indication that the combative and divisive politics of the orange party against Deputy President William Ruto’s political side no longer resonates with the electorate on the ground.

If the current predictions, campaigns and verbal pronunciations by politicians during the Ugenya and Embakasi South Constituencies’ by election camapigns is anything to go by,  then a possible verdict in the political contest between Deputy President William Ruto and  Former prime Minister Raila is finally sealed by the big lose that ODM as suffered in the two races.
The Embakasi South and Ugenya constituencies’ by-election results have seen Honorable Julius Mawathe of Wiper Party and Honorable David Ochieng’ of MDG, triumph over ODM’s candidates in both constituencies.
Both Candidates have been heavily associated with Deputy President William Ruto’s teams, with the ODM side alleging heavy funding from the Ruto’s side to them ahead of the elections.
The double loss by the Orange party comes through despite the fact that the party leader Raila Odinga, Siaya Senator James Orengo, MP TJ Kajwang, ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna and tens of other ODM MPs have been actively campaigning for their ODM candidates in both constituencies over the past few weeks.
The two big loses by ODM in Siaya and Nairobi is a clear indication that the combative and divisive politics of the orange party against Deputy President William Ruto’s political side no longer resonates with the electorate on the ground.
The widely talked about handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga  seems to be working against Raila’s political side, with his political lieutenants singing praises to the president and bashing the deputy president left right, morning to evening, in the vigilante style of fighting graft.
The two by-election loses by ODM have clearly left the Raila team in total confusion. The Ugenya by elections to be specific, must have hurt the party to the core, considering that it is the backyard of Siaya Senator James Orengo, where he launched the infamous impeachment campaign against the Deputy President in a funeral campaign.
The Ugenya constituency by-election campaigns have been heavily used by ODM politicians to popularize the Senator’s call for impeachment against the Deputy President.
The heavily losses by ODM in these by-elections therefore have sent a strong signal to the Orange party on what is likely to happen come 2022 if the race, as indicated will be between Raila’s and Ruto’s sides.
Let’s watch this space!
