Amani National Congress (ANC) party’s nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi has asked youth of ANC party not to take part in the grassroots elections of the youth league. The MP has termed the youth league scheduled to happen across the party’s regions as illegal, fraudulent and sham. He revealed that the elections were not sanctioned by the appropriate party organs.
Hon. Godfrey Osotsi mentioned that the so called grassland elections were being conducted by shoddy individuals against the party’s constitution. According to him, any party elections can only be managed and run by the National Elections Board. he says the board is not involved in the purported youth league elections happening.
Meeting with party chair
This comes out even after the ANC chairperson Mr Kelvin Lunani held a youth meeting in Busia County this week. In the meeting, the party chair asked the youth to be well prepared for the elections and remain committed to the party. He further affirmed to the youth that the party’s decision to expel Hon Osotsi was final.
The nominated MP has been accused of disrespecting the party leader Musalia Mudavadi. The MP has however claimed, that the party has internal issues that need to be resolved before any activity is held. He asked the party leadership not to confuse recruitment and grassroots elections.
