A family in Kenya is mourning the death of their son, father and breadwinner. A Kenyan man, named Alfred Ng’ang’a Gitau has passed on, just seven months after relocating to the United States for greener pastures.

Construction worker

According to family sources, Alfred Gitau, 35 year old man left Kenya in September 2018 for greener pastures in the US. He had been working as a construction worker and fending for his family, which is back in Kenya.

Alfred Gitau was committed to uplift the economic situation of his family. He is survived by his wife and a three year old son.

Drowned in lake

The Kenyan man, Alfred reportedly drowned in Lake Chelan, in Washington DC on Saturday afternoon. This happened after the Kayak he as travelling in with a friend capsized.

Friend narrowly survived

Reports from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office indicate that the ate Alfred Gitau was not wearing a personal flotation device at the time of the unfortunate incident. This is what caused him to drown. However, the friend he was travelling with, Mr. Jackson Njaru narrowly escaped the tragedy.
