A man in Butula area of Busia County succumbed to death Saturday morning after being ran on by an auctioneers vehicle send to auction his livestock.
According to documents seen by BusiaLeo, the man, one Patrick Owino was servicing a loan from Butula FSA and had made payment of between one thousand and five thousand shillings four times in the month of February this year.
He deposited an amount of five thousand shillings on Tuesday 13th February this year through a woman named Merceline Akinyi and remained with a balance of nine thousand one hundred a d sixty eight.
It is because of the outstanding balance of 9,168 shillings that Butula FSA SACCO send auctioneers to Mr Patrick Owino’s home early Saturday morning to auction his livestock.
However, things got out of hand when Patrick attempted to stop the auctioneers from taking his livestock. When they got adamant he decided to jump into their vehicle and head to the SACCO offices in protest.
He was allegedly pushed out of the moving vehicle. The fall on the road resulted to the injuries that he later succumbed to.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that auctioneers vehicle hit the deceased when he fall on the ground, causing his death at Makutano, Bulwani area of Butula.
