Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has praised President Uhuru Kenyatta for his peace initiatives and appealed to all leaders to emulate that magnificent feat.
Speaking during the 53rd Madaraka Day celebrations at Busia County Stadium the Governor said he was impressed with the wisdom in the President’s speech which centered on peace and unity in the country.
” Kenyans felt relieved when President Uhuru agreed to meet the opposition. We need dialogue in problems afflicting Kenyans.
I urge the President to continue employing dialogue. I am ready to sit with leaders from the county to iron out any differences between us,” he said.
The Governor said misdirecting our entire energies in persistent quarrels will not help, adding that he is willing to receive all MPs for a dialogue.
Ojaamong said using funerals to vilify others will only help to incite communities to turn against each other which should not be allowed to occur in Busia.
Busia County Commissioner Mongo Chimwanga said politics of prideness has no direction or wisdom in modern Kenya.
” Building defense systems and using youths to cause mayhem will not be tolerated,” he said, and warned the youth who are used that they will bear the brunt of their financiers action.
The CC said Busia had become security hot spot with many gadgets sent to the county to record people who use bad language.
Busia Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa wondered whether Kenyans should honour National Anthem which are played as part of entertainment.
He said Busia Market Fish traders will receive Sh1million from the Co-operative Fund to boost their fish stock.
