Busia resident Judge Justice Francis Tuiyot has only two weeks left before he moves to his new station.
Justice Tuiyot made the disclosure on Tuesday during a ceremony to hand over a title deed to the Judiciary for the construction of a law court by Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong.
” I have until 2nd June, 2016 to discharge my duties in Busia before I move to my new station. I am not old enough not to ” afford another gift of a wife from the generous people of Busia”, ” he said amid laughter.
Justice Tuiyot has discharged his duties for three years. “I thank the Assembly speaker Bernard Wamalwa for his compliments. I will miss the people of Busia dearly.”
The Chief Justice (Willy Mutunga) saw it fit for me to move. It was easy working here since people have been co-operative,” he said.
In his parting shot, Justice Tuiyot said there was need for an alternative dispute resolution involving Council of Elders and County Users Committee to reduce cases going to court.
Wamalwa said Justice Tuiyot will be remembered for changing transforming the Judiciary since he took charge in 2014.
