The entry of Ford Kenya Party into Busia County is already causing jitters among the ODM leaders including incumbent governor Sospeter Ojaamong. This has emerged after the recent campaigns that Ford Kenya has had in the county and its environs.
Already, Butula MP Mr Michael Onyura has declared that he would defend his seat in 2017 through a Ford-Kenya ticket.
So far the party has a candidate in Nambale and Budalangi with sources indicating that Funyula MP Paul Otuoma intends to run against Mr Ojaamong on a Ford Kenya ticket in the next election.
This has set tongues wagging with some political pundits arguing that Mr Wetang’ula and his Ford Kenya party are poised to capitalise on the likely fallout of ODM party leaders during the primaries.
This is staked on the belief that local ODM stalwarts in the region like Mr Namwamba and Governor Ojaamong are likely to get direct party nomination because of their positions.
